If you have recently received your child’s school allocation, we would like to guide you through the next steps.
Accepting Your Child’s Place
If your child has been allocated a place at Brooke Weston Academy, we look forward to welcoming them. There is no need to confirm acceptance unless requested by the Local Authority, but we encourage you to get in touch if you have any questions about starting with us.
If You Wish to Decline the Offer
If you have decided not to accept the place, please inform North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) as soon as possible so that the place can be offered to another child.

If your child was not allocated a place Brooke Weston Academy but you would like them to attend, you can request to have their name added to the waiting list. This process is managed by North Northamptonshire Council. Waiting lists are ranked according to the school’s admissions criteria rather than the date of application.

In Year Applications
Applications for 'in year moves' need to be applied for through the local authority. The below link will take you to the to the application forms as well as give you more information about the process. Please be aware that places are allocated according to space in the requested year group.
North Northamptonshire Council (northnorthants.gov.uk)
The Academy will consider all applications for places. Where the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, the above oversubscription criteria will be applied. The outcome of each application will be communicated to the parent/carer within the specified timescales. If the application is unsuccessful, parents/carers will be informed as to how to submit an appeal.
Waiting List
The Academy operates a waiting list for Year 7 – Year 11 places. If a place is available then it will be filled by a place on the waiting list subject to the conditions set out in the oversubscription criteria. Parents/carers must notify the Academy if they wish their child to be on the waiting list. Parents/carers must reconfirm they wish their child to remain on the waiting list within one week of the start of each new academic term. Failure to do so may result in removal from the waiting list.
Admission arrangements for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
If your child has an education, health and care (EHC) plan or a statement of special educational needs (SEN) there is a separate process for your child's school admission. Further details on how to apply can be found here.
Application for a Sixth Form place
The Academy will consider all applications into our Sixth Form and more information on how to apply can be found here.
Appeals for In Year Applications
Appeals for in-year applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged. Appellants do not have the right to a second appeal in respect of the Academy for the same academic year unless, in exceptional circumstances, the Academy has accepted a second application from the appellant because of a significant and material change in the circumstances of the parent, child or Academy but the applicant is still refused admission. Appellants may apply for a place in the Academy in respect of a later academic year and have a further right of appeal if that application is unsuccessful.
In order to submit an In-Year appeal for 2024-25 please complete one of the forms below. In-year appeals 2025-26 will be dealt by the local authority.
