A group of prospective Cambridge and Oxford students travelled to London to meet with one of Brooke Weston Academy’s trustees, Mr Heneage Stevenson who offered help and advice ahead of their university interviews.
Mr Stevenson who joined the Brooke Weston Trust as a director in July 2013, offered advice on the interview process for Cambridge and Oxford University and conducted a mock interview with them ahead of their real interviews.
Head of Sixth Form Mrs Nina Smith said, ‘The students really valued this experience – although it was not enjoyable! It was, however, a fantastic opportunity to experience an interview with someone unfamiliar, who was really tough on them meaning that they could focus on key areas they needed to develop before they go to Cambridge or Oxford in the next few weeks.’
Year 13 student and Head Boy Shehan Retnasingam said ‘It was a great opportunity to receive detailed feedback on our strengths and weakenesses in not only our interview skills, but also our personal statements.’
