Brooke Weston Academy is celebrating Christmas early with its festive Winter Showcase which is taking place on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th December.
Andrei Kuzin, a Year 13 student at Brooke Weston Academy had the opportunity of a lifetime when he met renowned Spanish flamenco guitarist, Juan Martin, who passed on tips on playing the distinctive music.
Congratulations to three Brooke Weston students Daisy (Year 8), Joe (Year 9) and Max Oram (Year 10) who competed with Youth Brass 2000 (YB2K) in the British Open Youth Contest in Lancashire and came away as the British Youth Champions 2018.
After the phenomenal success of our school production ‘Grease the Musical’ last year we are excited to announce that this years summer performance will be Bugsy Malone and all students are invited to audition for the main roles for the show that will take place in May.

Brooke Weston’s guitar teacher Mr Paul Balmer is searching for more students to become involved in his youth projects in music and creating podcasts and short films about Corby.
Brooke Weston student Daisy Oram competed in the Kettering and District Eisteddfod competition, an annual festival of music, speech and dramatic arts for amateur performers where she was successful in winning the A S Felton Cup in the 13 Years and under cornet Recital Class.
Daisy practices the cornet five times a week and had to fight her anxiety issues during the competition when on the first day she became too nervous to compete but managed to overcome her fears and came back the next day to win. She said ‘The first day my anxiety got the better of me and I wasn’t able to play at all. I went back on the second day feeling scared and worried that I wouldn’t be able to play or I would go wrong. I played two different pieces tried my best to keep focused and won. It felt amazing, I was shaking I was so happy.’
Brooke Weston’s Acoustic evenings are held termly on Wednesday of week four. They are an open mic event where all students are invited to showcase their talents.
Monday 19th December sees Brooke Weston's annual Christmas Showcase where students will entertain the audience in a variety of acts from the performing arts.
