Some of our top achieving year 9 and 10 maths students were recently selected to attend the Oundle Mathematical Enrichment Conference (OMEC), which was held at the SciTec building in Oundle School.
Students spent the morning attending seminars and engaging in activities centred around maths to help build on and extend their mathematical knowledge. They also participated in a mathematical treasure hunt which was hotly contested between the fourteen teams who had to solve twelve challenging maths problems. Well done to our year 9 students, Javraj Bains and Ethan Hawsley, who achieved third place in the treasure hunt.
Maths teacher Lezindi Du Buisson said, ‘Our students had a fantastic time engaging in team-based maths challenges. They performed exceptionally well and we are proud to have such well-mannered, brilliant young mathematicians at Brooke Weston!’
