Congratulations to Harriet Simpson 7S, Goda Kensminaite 8N and Evie Chambers 8W, whose book covers’ all won a prize in the Book Fair ‘Design a Book Cover’ competition.

Students from Years 7 and 8 had to design a cover to be in with the chance of winning a book of their choice from those available at the Scholastic Book Fair. They could design a cover for a book they had read or an imaginary book made up by themselves, the only criteria being that the cover needed to be colourful, intriguing and eye catching as well as including a blurb, a title and the author’s name on the spine.

The competition was judged by Art teacher Abbie Coles, who said, ‘A massive congratulations to all the entrants of the Design a Book Cover competition, I was blown away by the time and effort that went into  each and every entry. It was a very hard decision but with the help of Year 12 Fine Art student Charlie Swan-Beard, we narrowed it down to the top three entries.’
