Brooke Weston Academy drama students in Year 11 and 13 were treated to a visit by Highly Sprung, the UK’s leading physical theatre company, who specialise in working with young people to build their confidence, energy and creativity. The students participated in workshops devised to help them with their performance skills in preparation for their scripted performances, which will be taking place next term.

Brooke Weston Drama teacher, Miss Horner, said, ‘The students loved it! They worked through a range of physical activities using physical theatre to develop their focus and non-verbal responses to actions and energy, which will all have a positive impact on their future performances as they will be able to apply the energy and actions to their scripts. They also created “sticky shapes” and learnt how to use physical theatre to create links between scenes and how to show relationships.’
