Students take part in hands-on workshops at Tresham College in Corby
Recently, some of our KS3 and KS4 students had the exciting opportunity to visit Tresham College in Corby. The visit was packed with engaging activities, including a talk about apprenticeships, a campus tour, and hands-on workshops in Motor Vehicle and Hair and Beauty.
During the workshops, our students were guided by current Tresham students. In the Motor Vehicle workshop, they learned how to change a tyre on real cars, while in the Hair and Beauty workshop, they practiced hair styling techniques on mannequins. The Tresham students were knowledgeable, patient, and informative, making the learning experience enjoyable and enriching for our students who listened intently to each of them.
Miss Colquhoun, Director of Digital Strategy, Careers & Work-Related Learning, said, ‘One Tresham student, Kye, is a former BWA student, and it was great to hear about his progress since leaving here last summer. Our students represented the Academy well and gained an insight into future pathways. Many students expressed their reluctance to leave as we concluded the workshops. It was a great opportunity for students to engage in a practical course and find out more about the college day. Thank you to Tresham College for hosting us, and we look forward to future collaborations.’
