The show opened with a captivating drama monologue by Year 11 student Frankie Lee Manning Shelford, setting a high standard for the evening. This was followed by a lively music ensemble featuring Anotida Matika (Y11) on drums, Branden Barclay-Pywell (Y11) and Emilia Morrice (Y13) on guitar, and Meisha Tomlinson (Y11) on vocals, who delivered a festive rendition of ‘Merry Christmas Everybody.’
The Year 10 dance group then took the stage with a dramatic piece titled ‘Close Your Eyes,’ showcasing their impressive choreography and emotional expression. This was followed by two outstanding solo performances from Year 11 students: Lola Rzymski on electric guitar playing ‘Wildflowers,’ and Summer Callaghan with a piano recital of ‘Mouvement dans l’immobilité.’
Students involved in the Musical Elective delighted the audience with performances of ‘It’s Good to be a Nun’ and ‘Raise Your Voice’ from the musical ‘Sister Act,’ giving a sneak peek into next year’s BWA musical production. This was followed by a dramatic dance piece ‘Rhythm of the Falls’ from the Year 11 dance group.
Throughout the evening, Year 7 students entertained with their charming performance of ‘The Gnomes Who Ruined Christmas,’ followed by the Year 7 Choir singing their renditions of ‘Revolting Children’ and ‘The School Song’ from the musical ‘Matilda.’
The showcase concluded with a spirited finale of ‘Merry Christmas Everyone,’ leaving the audience in high festive spirits.
Director of PA Dawn Willis-Lovelock said, ‘Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to bring this performance to life, including those behind the scenes and, of course, the students themselves for their stellar festive performances over two magical evenings.’
