BWA hosts Macmillan Coffee Mornings and a Non-Uniform Day - fundraising for charity
Brooke Weston Academy is holding a week dedicated to fundraising and raising awareness for two important causes: Macmillan Cancer Support and Young Minds.
Throughout the week, BWA will host a series of Coffee Mornings for students. These events will feature a variety of cakes available for purchase at 50p and £1. All proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that provides essential services and support to those affected by cancer and their families. Students are encouraged to bring cash to participate and contribute to this worthy cause.
On Friday of Week 8, BWA will hold a ‘Hello Yellow’ Non-Uniform Day in support of Young Minds, a charity dedicated to the mental health and well-being of young people. Students are invited to wear a yellow item as part of their outfits and bring in a £1 donation. This initiative aims to highlight the critical role Young Minds plays in addressing the gaps in mental health services and reducing the long wait times for support.
BWA Lead of Culture, Ethos & Wellbeing - Senior Mental Health Lead, Sammy Hallybone said, ’Let’s come together to make Charity Week a huge success and show our support for these incredible causes. Your enthusiasm and cooperation are greatly appreciated! Thank you for your support.’
