Year 12 Geography students conduct data collection in Liverpool
Our Year 12 A-level Geography students spent five days on a field trip to Liverpool where they explored their Human and Physical case study environment of Liverpool and practised data collection techniques to support them in their non-examined assessment coursework.
The students visited a range of coasts, including Formby and Crosby, and investigated regeneration around Albert Docks and Liverpool One.
Head of Geography, Eloise Scarth said, ‘On the first day we explored the city centre of Liverpool (despite the rain) and had a look at some key aspects of the Contemporary Urban Environments section of their course. We then had a day at the coast, looking into different coastal processes and practising data collection on the sand dunes.
‘The students spent the latter half of the week collecting their own data for their self-defined NEA questions – some in the city centre and surrounding suburbs, whilst others at the coast. It was a successful trip and the students collected some excellent data, so it will be great to see their final assignments!’
