Students in Years 9 and 10 enjoy a day full of learning, fun and interaction
Some of our students in Y9 and Y10 had the opportunity to attend the first North Northants' Preparing for Adulthood Conference which was hosted by the SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (IASS) at the John Lowther Scout Centre in Kettering.
Students took part in four workshops designed to equip them with skills, knowledge, and confidence as they journey towards adulthood.
Workshop 1: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 - Led by the Department for Work and Pensions
Workshop 2: 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 - Featuring community-based activities.
Workshop 3: 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 - Focused on fostering relationships through team building activities with obstacle courses, boulder walls, and pedal go-karts.
Workshop 4: 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 - Attended by SEND-related support services from across Northamptonshire with a wonderful array of enticing activities.
The day was wrapped up with a spectacular Silent Disco, hosted by The Good Times Project complete with three stations playing hits from across the decades.
