Skydive Fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Year 11 student set to skydive for charity!

Good luck to Brooke Weston Academy student Jamiie Wardle Y11, who is set to skydive at Brackley airfield in Northamptonshire on 3rd August 2024, to help raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust charity.

Jamiie is hoping that her sponsored skydive will help raise money for her charity and at the same time raise awareness of CF, a condition she has lived with all her life.

CF is a genetic condition affecting around 11,000 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity working towards a brighter future for everyone with CF by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition.

Jamiie said, ‘Living with CF can be challenging, but I have tried not to let it stop me doing the things I want to do. I have wanted to do a skydive for a long time as I have watched my Uncle do several of them, but there is a minimum age limit of 16, so my parents have arranged it as a 16th birthday gift for me. I thought it would be great to also try and raise money at the same time for a charity that has been so important to me. Thank you to everyone who has already sponsored me. It is much appreciated.’

Thank you to everyone who has already sponsored Jamiie.
