A winning performance on the pitch for Year 7 student Jack
Congratulations to Brooke Weston Academy Year 7 student Jack Woolley, whose team gave a winning performance on the pitch when they competed in the Lincolnshire R&T football tournament.
Jack plays in goal for Wellingborough Whitworth FC U12’s, and they were crowned winners after topping their group at the tournament and then going on to beat the current Junior Premier League (JPL) Champions, First Touch Football Academy, 1-0 in the final.
Jack said, ‘We played some really hard games against some good teams. We scored our winning goal in the final just before the end of the first half, and they had their chances to score in the second half. It felt great to have won, especially playing against such a good team. We had a presentation at the end of the tournament, and it was great to be able to lift the winning trophy. We have two league games left this season and if we can win those we will be top of the League table.'
