Brooke Weston Academy was delighted to welcome Emmeline Child, a lecturer at the University of Northampton in Fashion, Textiles, Footwear and Accessories, to talk to our Year 10 and Year 12 Textile students about the exciting and creative fashion degree course they offer at the University; the only degree course in Europe where you can study Fashion, Textiles, Footwear and Accessories with a working tannery on-campus.

Elspeth Bedwell (Y12) said, ‘It was a very interesting session with Emmeline, she spent time looking through my book of work and said she was impressed with all the hard work I had put in and how creative my work was. She also gave me some constructive feedback on tying all the themes of my work together.’

Head of DT, Jenny Strydom said, ‘The students really enjoyed the talk, and it was good for them to hear about the degree course they offer at the University and the diverse range of pathways students can focus on within the textile industry.’
