Sixth Form students get an insight into studying Economics at university
We were delighted to welcome Dr Emiliya Lazarova, Head of School of Economics at University of East Anglia (UEA) to Brooke Weston Academy. Students in Year 12 and 13 interested in studying Economics at University attended the engaging and insightful session, where they learnt about: what Economics really is, what is it like to study Economics as a university degree and what the career prospects are.
Year 13 Liam Cully said, ‘I found the session really good, especially learning how the supplier thinks, compared to how the customer thinks. Customers are willing to accept a lot more than they are willing to spend. It was intriguing to learn why customers think like this and how companies utilise it.’
Students earned themselves UEA goody bags as part of the Economics examples shared by Dr Lazarova and for purposeful questions asked at the end of the session.
