Year 12 Geography students spend five days in Liverpool
Our Year 12 A-level Geography students spent five days on a field trip to Liverpool where they learnt a number of fieldwork techniques in order for them to gain a better understanding of their human and physical Geography case study of Liverpool. Students studied various aspects of Geography relevant to their A-level syllabus, which will prepare them for the non-examined assessed coursework element of the course.
Head of Geography, Eloise Scarth said, ‘We walked around Liverpool city centre including the Albert Docks learning information about the regeneration of the area as well as different data collection methods. We also went to Thurstston, Formby and Crosby beaches to learn about physical processes affecting the coastline as well as scaling some impressive sand dunes! The students were also out collecting their own data for their self-defined NEA questions – some in the city centre and surrounding suburbs, whilst others at the coast. It was a successful trip and I cannot wait to see the amazing write-ups the students produce.’
