Students in Year 8 are growing their own fabric from bacteria to help better understand the importance of sustainability in the textile industry.
Brooke Weston Academy students received awards and berets at a ceremony held by the Brooke Weston Trust Combined Cadet Force. The event comprised a Remembrance ceremony and parade. It was attended by parents and Trust leaders, including Principals and CEO, Dr Andrew Campbell.
A group of Year 7 students visited the home of Leicester Tigers to watch them claim a victory against Gloucester Rugby in their defence of the Anglo-Welsh cup title.
A group of 12 Brooke Weston students visited CERN near Geneva, to talk to particle physicists about the ground-breaking research at the site, which is the world’s largest experiment.
Congratulations to Brooke Weston’s guitar teacher Mr Paul Balmer who has won three different awards at the 2017 Northamptonshire Pride Awards.
Congratulations to Brooke Weston students Kirndeep Dhassi, Lana Green, Seren Devine and Eliza Donnelly who have all had their book reviews published in the latest copy of ‘Teen Titles’, the book review magazine for teenagers.
Brooke Weston are celebrating a fantastic Progress 8 score of +0.57, which ranks them as one of the top four schools in Northamptonshire and in the top 5% of schools nationally.
Congratulations to the Brooke Weston senior netball team who played in the District Championship at Bishop Stopford School to defend their title as District Champions and succeeded in winning the title again.
As part of their PSHE lessons students in Year 12 have been taking part in reflective workshops where they were able to take some time out of their busy first term in the Sixth Form to relax and reflect.
Students in Year 11 were invited to take part in a pre-learner road safety morning where they experienced driving a car and riding a motorbike for the first time as well as having an hour of classroom road safety education.
The Governors at Brooke Weston Academy are seeking to forge closer links with parents/guardians of students at the school so that news, views and ongoing developments can be shared. As part of Biology week at Brooke Weston, students from all years were invited to attend an after school biology dissection workshop to learn about the different parts of the body and how they work.
