The PE department at Brooke Weston got more than they bargained for when they asked Year 8 sports teams to bring in a lucky mascot. Year 8 Julia Dybas brought along the massive bear that she received as a Christmas present.

Brooke Weston Academy students enjoyed an action-packed weekend with the Trust's Combined Cadet Force, developing their military fieldcraft tactics and camping under make-shift shelters before taking part in a large scale three-phase platoon assault.

Congratulations to our Year 7 and 8 girls football team who competed in their first match of the season against Kettering Buccleuch Academy and succeeded in winning four goals to three.

Well done to groundsman Paul Twamley, and his son, Luke, who are doing a marathon car wash to raise money for charity. The car-wash-athon is the latest charity push for Paul, who is aiming to raise over £2,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Thank you to staff and students for generously donating to today's mufti day collection, which raised £1,425.55, the largest amount ever raised by a non-uniform day at Brooke Weston Academy.
