Year 9 students take part in assemblies and guidance sessions to support GCSE options process
In preparation for the upcoming GCSE Options process next term, Year 9 students have been attending a series of informative assemblies led by the heads of various departments and small group guidance sessions with Careers Advisor, Mrs Featherstone.
These sessions are designed to complement each other and help students make informed decisions about their future studies by providing insights into the subjects available, as well as time for reflection.
The assemblies covered a wide range of subjects, including Art & Photography, Engineering, Food Technology, Business, IT/Computer Science, Triple Science, Media, Music, Dance & Drama, Religious Studies, Geography, History, and Health & Social Care, GCSE PE, and Sports Studies.
Additionally, the assemblies outlined the assessments, content, progression, and career opportunities associated with each subject. This comprehensive approach ensures that students are well-informed about what to expect in their chosen subjects, how they can progress academically, and the potential career paths they can pursue.
These assemblies are a valuable resource for students as they navigate their GCSE options when the process is launched during Term 4, ensuring they are well-informed and confident in their choices for the next academic year.
