IDEK Theatre Company performs a high-energy theatre show for Year 12 students

IDEK (I Don’t Even Know) is a physical theatre in education company, whose aim is to tell relatable stories in a high-energy physical theatre style that is immersed in a digital landscape.

The production performed for Year 12 was I Don’t Even Know (about Tomorrow), a 45-minute-high-energy show for students who are at key points in their education journey and making choices at post 16.

The story follows six nameless characters as they navigate the process of narrowing down their options and making their choices. IDEK theatre company collaborated with schools in Northamptonshire to re-work the show to reflect the student perspective, to make sure the messages in the play are relevant and impactful.

Year 12 Finley Robbins said, ‘The performance was really effective in normalising the worries that we have about the UCAS process and making decisions. It was clear that the actors had their own recent first-hand experience of doing the UCAS process just as we are now and this was communicated well in the performance.’

Mrs Hegarty said, 'We would like to thank the University of Northampton for offering Year 12 the opportunity to watch the IDEK company performance. I feel certain that this will have helped many think carefully about future choices and what is the best fit for them.'
