BWA staff take part in the Market Harborough Carnival 10K race

Well done to Brooke Weston Academy staff members Dave Clarke, Sarah Van Nierop and Jen Holland, who all joined hundreds of other runners taking part in the popular Market Harborough Carnival 10K Race.

The theme for the 2024 Carnival was Health and Wellbeing, with the 10K race starting and finishing at the Carnival Showground. The course took the runners through the spectator-lined roads in Market Harborough Town Centre and also gave them the opportunity to take in the scenic waterside views of the Grand Union Canal.

Dave Clarke, Deputy Director of Sixth Form, said, ‘It was a perfect day for running, and I was really chuffed when I found out I had got a 10K PB. The atmosphere at the Carnival afterwards was fantastic and, as well as clocking up the miles, part of the race entry fee for the run goes towards helping fund a number of lifesaving defibs for Market Harborough.’
