Year 8 attend interactive STEM Roadshow
Brooke Weston Academy was delighted to host a STEM Roadshow run by MGA working in collaboration with presenters representing BAE Systems, the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Navy to deliver an interactive roadshow celebrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) for our Year 8 students.
The show focussed on energy and the importance it plays in everyday life, from new ways to harness natural sources, to how the human body converts food into kinetic and thermal energy.
The roadshow engaged and inspired Year 8, who were also given information about exciting career opportunities on offer in engineering and how the RAF and Royal Navy recruit people with STEM skills.
Head of Science, Adam Tan said, ‘The session was dynamic and interactive, delving into the principles of electricity and its generation methods. This aligns perfectly with our current science curriculum, making learning not just fun but incredibly relevant.'
